BHC Spring Scurry
The AKC FIT DOG Spring Scurry is a virtual 5K (3.1 miles) fitness activity designed for people and their dogs to complete together.
Offered through the American Kennel Club FIT DOG program, this non-competitive event encourages participants to stay active while building a stronger connection with their dogs.
The Spring Scurry can be completed at your own pace, making it accessible for dogs and handlers of all fitness levels.
Program Overview

The Spring Scurry is a 5K (3.1 mile) walk or run completed with your dog

It may be completed all at once or broken into multiple sessions

Participants can complete the distance:

Individually

With friends
-
With a local AKC FIT DOG Club (such as Bullhead City Pack Walk)

The activity can take place anywhere dogs are permitted, including parks, trails, or neighborhoods
Program Window:
February 15, 2026 – June 30, 2026
How It Works

Complete a total of 3.1 miles with your dog during the program window

Track your distance using:

Smartphone or fitness app
-
Smartwatch or similar device
-
AKC FIT DOG tracking forms

Participation is based on an honor system

Once completed, participants may order the official AKC FIT DOG Spring Scurry medal.
Registration

Participation requires registration through the AKC
-
$20 fee (paid directly to AKC)

Includes a 3” commemorative Spring Scurry medal with ribbon
AKC FIT DOG Credit
Completion of the Spring Scurry may be applied toward AKC FIT DOG title points, supporting your dog’s overall fitness journey within the program.
BHC Pack Walk Participation
Bullhead City Pack Walk offers group walk opportunities that can support participants working toward completion of the Spring Scurry.
While participation in group walks may help contribute to your mileage, tracking and submission of distances is the responsibility of each participant.
